Arno river – idyllic symbol of Florence. First of all, it is one of the most important rivers in central Italy. Secondly, it divides city in two parts: the Northern one, where the main city center is located, and the Southern one, attracting with famous Piazzale Michelangelo, from where beautiful panorama can be seen, Boboli gardens or lively Piazza Santa Spirito with nice places for Italian aperitivo.
Moreover, Arno is crossed by number of bridges, from which the best known is Ponte Vecchio. Not surprising that this river is beloved by tourists with cameras, catching picturesque views during the daylight, and by romantic couples, walking along after the dark.
Doesn’t matter at what time of the day or which bridge of Florence you cross, doesn’t matter even if it is sunny or rainy – touching Florentine views will meet your eyes.
